What is 'The Union'?
The 45th Union World Conference on Lung Health will be held in Barcelona, Spain October 28 – November 1 2014.With delegates from more than 120 countries, the conference will bring together caregivers, researchers, donors, civil society, and the private sector to discuss tuberculosis, HIV, tobacco control, lung health and non-communicable diseases.
The Community Corner
Sponsored by ACTION, GCTA, and STOP TB Partnership, the Community Corner will be the Union's civil society and advocacy hub! You'll find us in the Exhibition Hall at booths 49 and 51. The Community Corner will provide a space for advocates, NGOs, academics, the scientific community, and the public and private sectors to come together at the conference to discuss and debate some of the most prevalent issues for the TB community at present. The proposed format aims to attract new audiences, aid in forging new partnerships and relationships, and bridge gaps between sectors represented at the conference. It will include three Oxford Style Debates, roundtable discussions, and an open gathering space for conference attendees. The full schedule will be available shortly here!
New TB Europe Coalition Publication
The TB Europe Coalition is launching a report at the Union Conference assessing the progress that has been made on indicators that are tied to the involvement of civil society and affected communities in tackling M/XDR-TB.
