The Definition of Success: Measurement in the Post-2015 Framework

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) represented an ambitious program to eradicate poverty, focusing the minds of the world on the challenges of poverty in the 21st century, and promising to improve the lives of millions of people.

The MDGs will expire in 2015, and the global community is collectively considering a new set of goals. The construction of indicators to define the success or failure of these goals will play a significant role in defining the scope, scale, ambition, and ultimate achievement of post-2015 goals. This publication from ACTION argues for the development of clear, transparent, and fixed measurement indicators that will ensure we can achieve real and inclusive progress against post-2015 goals, and galvanize the world around the unfinished work of eradicating poverty
