Since 2004, ACTION partners around the world have developed a highly effective global advocacy platform to build political support and increase investments to address diseases of poverty.
Over the last 6 years years alone, ACTION has helped bring $3 billion to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria; $5 billion for Gavi, the Vaccines Alliance, to support poor countries in immunizing half a billion children; and $3 billion for the long-neglected fight against undernutrition.
ACTION partners continue to influence national and global policy to improve equitable access to TB care, childhood immunizations, and good nutrition. By educating and then working with parliamentarians, first ladies, and other political champions, we have put TB, preventable child deaths, and undernutrition on national agendas from Australia to Zambia. For example, our partners signed and provided oversight for key Global Fund grants in Kenya, and ensured TB and TB-HIV were included in India and Indonesia’s national HIV/AIDS programs.
