As an ACTION partnership we are deeply saddened by the passing of Kraig Klaudt, one of ACTION’s founders and a deeply-dedicated, passionate, and visionary leader in the fight against TB and other diseases of poverty. Our thoughts are with his friends, family, and colleagues at this time.
Kraig’s long-time commitment and contribution to TB was unwavering. His vision, boldness, and dedication not only drove the creation of ACTION, but also many transformational gains in the TB world, including articulating and popularizing the concept of “DOTS” and supporting the creation of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Kraig was responsible for bringing together the original ACTION partners, for helping us create an ambitious vision for our work together, and for inspiring many of us to take on the TB fight in the first place. He helped us all to be better and braver advocates.
We will miss Kraig as a colleague, collaborator, and friend. He will always be our inspiration to be courageous and ambitious in the fight to end TB and to achieve equitable access to health for all people.
