2016–2014: The United Nations General Assembly proclaims a UN Decade of Action on Nutrition to run from 2016 to 2025 and to mobilize action toward reducing hunger and improving nutrition around the world. This resolution calls upon UN agencies such as the FAO, WHO, UNICEF, WFP, and IFAD; UN mechanisms such as the UNSCN; and multi-stakeholder platforms such as the CFS to implement the Decade of Action. It also invites governments and other stakeholders to help drive progress towards the global nutrition targets by 2025.
2016–2014: Nutrition for Growth hosts a media moment in Rio de Janeiro, alongside the Summer Olympics in Brazil. Brazil could not deliver a pledging moment for the second Nutrition for Growth summit as originally committed at N4G 2013, but hosts a media event to continue to raise the profile for nutrition and sustain the momentum toward a global nutrition pledging summit, as yet to be announced.
